Entering Thailand is now ‘back to normal’ for foreign visitors with all covid travel restrictions dropped from July 2022.
Thailand has removed the requirement for Thailand Pass registration along with lifting of other covid-19 related restrictions for all travelers according to the latest travel restrictions update from the Royal Thai Embassy. This means quarantine stays are no lobger required for any vistors, regardless of vacine status.
The new rules issued by the Thai Embassy state the following:
- Travelers, both Thais, and foreigners entering Thailand, will only be required to show Proof of Vaccination or COVID-19 test results.
- For vaccinated adults and their children, proof of vaccination of the parent or guardian is required. Children are not required to complete a test.
- For unvaccinated adults and their children, you will be required to show proof of a negative result of the RT PCR test or professional ATK test taken within 72 hours before traveling.
Although the rules state that you must show a negative result if you are unvacinated, it is understood that there may be random checks and that unvaccinated travellers that arrive without test results 72 hours prior to flying may be asked to do a test on arrival.
Demands to have travel insurance to cover the cost of hospital stays if found to test positive for coronavirus have also been lifted, which basically means things are pretty much back to normal. The Thai government is now only recommending, rather than insisting, that visitors have comprehensive travel insurance.
